"The Drawer Boy" becomes "The Zoo Story"

The cast and crew of Terrace Little Theatre's "The Drawer Boy" have been forced to abandon their plans for a festival performance at the Skeena Zone Drama Festival this year.

"We are devastated", says director Marianne Brorup Weston. Due to an actor requiring surgery that turned out to take him out of commission for the immediate future, the project was halted last week when a search for a replacement actor failed.

Not one to be deterred, Brorup Weston is taking the remaining cast and crew forward with a smaller, but equally exciting project, the classic Edward Albee play, "The Zoo Story".

"A stumbling block can be turned into a stepping stone for bigger things if the talent and will is there", adds Brorup Weston. I have two incredibly talented actors and an amazing crew who deserve a chance to shine." She cites a supportive TLT Executive for giving her the encouragement and the chance to move ahead.

In the meantime,"The Drawer Boy" will go on Brorup Weston's back burner.
"When the time is right, it will come together."

March Production: 2006/2007

Terrace Little Theatre presents...
The Drawer Boy
Written By Michael Healey
Directed by Marianne Brorup Weston

Starring: Adam Kirkwood, Jerry Stuebing, Alan Weston

It's 1972, and a self-absorbed young Toronto actor, Miles, arrives on a small farm to do hands-on research for an upcoming role in a play about country life. He is sent to live with two middle-aged farmers, Morgan who is not to thrilled with the self-involved young city dweller, and Angus, who is unable to remember that the young actor is even there due to a head injury sustained in London during World War II. Miles unwillingly stumbles upon the truth about their past and as a result, their lives are forever altered when art attempts to imitate life and the line between truth and fiction is crossed. What begins as an amusing portrayal of rural and urban culture-clash, slowly peels away layers of forgotten truths and lies, exposing hidden secrets of love and tragedy. Think farm life is boring? Think again! Think plays about farm life are boring? You be the judge.

22nd, 23rd and 24th- McColl Playhouse
