Summer Drama Days - Cancelled for 2009

The Terrace Little Theatre regrets informing the community that we will not able to run this very popular program for the Summer of 2009. Inadequate funding and volunteer capacity, plus potential conflicts with on-site construction projects, have placed us in the position of having to cancel Summer Drama Days for the second year in a row.

We are not happy with having to make this decision, but we had little option based on our existing program model. The Terrace Little Theatre asks for you understanding. We will be continuing to work on a revised program model for 2010, and other youth projects for the near future.

Highlights:

• We are in discussions with NWCC about partnering on Summer Drama Days.
• BUNK#7 will possibly change direction. There may be a Summer Developmental Retreat in the summer, depending on funding.

Youth Report - February 25 2009

Summary:

• Youth Troupe: Sandy Watson is very interested in developing a solid group of teens and exploring the Streets Theatre concept. Marianne Weston is also interested, but would like it to develop out of Kermode Friendship Society's BUNK#7 Project. Discussions are ongoing.
• Summer Drama Days: It was decided that if we can get enough funding through Service Canada that we would put on the program essentially as we have done before, but with an increased number of paid staff, and more resources put towards supervision and volunteer help. There are still a number of issues to work out before we can officially announce SDD 2009, but there has also been some communication with outside partners that could increase our capacity to manage this very popular program.
