Our Amazing Amy Turner
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a very much-loved and long-time TLT member, Amy Turner. Those who have had the privilege and honour of working with her will never forget her incredible energy and commitment to everything theatre related, not to mention her kindness and compassion. A true-blue Blue Jays fan, Amy was always ready to cheer them on regardless of their division standings. Amy's interests were many and diverse. There was virtually no part of the theatre world that Amy had not touched with her fire and enthusiasm. After surviving a long and frustrating leukemia treatment, Amy was able to come back to us for one last production, portraying Nurse Ratched in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". Sadly, shortly after the production wrapped up, she was once again diagnosed with leukemia, leading her into another round of cancer treatment, one that would ultimately see her benched. Mere words cannot convey how much of an impact Amy had on our theatre world, let alone how much she enriched the lives of those around her. She will be greatly missed. There will be a celebration of life service to be held October, 18th at 2:00pm at the McColl Playhouse.
